It’s this time every year when we’re reminded to pause, reflect, and examine what’s right in front of us and the journey that led us to where we are – both professionally and personally.  It’s something we should do every day really, but for whatever reason, the holidays heighten our level of gratitude, introspection, and reflection.

When I think about where I am today professionally, I am so grateful – for the journey that has brought me here, to running my own consultancy business  HR Optimisation. It’s a company that I’ve been fortunate enough to be able to design to align with my core values to help people and businesses thrive. Each day, I am able to help talented leaders and managers design and embed their bespoke employee-centric people strategy and re-engineer their people processes to be more efficient, engaging and purposeful – which means more people are getting to work in jobs that they find motivating, engaging and rewarding and helps them want to stay at longer.

My old boss use to say, “Life’s too short to stay in a job you don’t like.” I truly love my job, and helping others and my hope is that by creating better employee experiences, HRO is helping people live happier work lives, and be their best selves.

It’s what motivates me to work hard at my job. I get to wake up each day and play a part in all of that. And that’s more than pretty cool.

By working as a coach through HRO, it’s also helping me live my own best life. I value the personal connection and relationships I am able to build with my clients.  I am grateful that some of them I have had the privledge to work with for over 3 years and have developed a deep level of trust and rapport with.

I delight in the fresh employment challenges my clients bring to me weekly, and the pleasure of being able to help simplify the complexity and design a fitting solution for them.

I love the fact that I am my own boss so if I want to pick my gorgeous children from school and log on later in the evening, I can, it is my choice.  I have ultimate flexibility.

I could go on….but in all, I am very grateful for my life and my blessings.

I’m curious – what are you feeling grateful for?
